Visiting My Site Is NOT Harmful To Your Computer!

However, this isn’t what Google says about SmallDogsParadise.com Here’s the screen shot.

I knew something was not quite right when my web stats shows a couple hundred visitors per day since yesterday. I didn’t react much as I thought it was just another Google dance (algorithmic adjustment), only much bigger dance this time.

Unfortunately this isn’t the case because Google thinks my site contains malware or whatever badwares. Obviously, this is some kind of mistakes. If you have been reading my posts for a while now, clearly I don’t write or put up any unrelated doggie stuff or scam visitors into doing something against their will. (Yeh, like I’ve that special skill of Matt Parker, Heroes!)

As I stated on my Disclaimer, I only

collect certain technical information when you visit us. For example, the domain name from which you accessed this site, the pages visited and the date and time you accessed this site are analyzed to make this site more useful to visitors. But, I only use IP addresses and these are not linked to personally identifiable information.

No cookies are used on this site.

And if you have ever commented on my blog and/or subscribe to my newsletter, you knew I don’t use your email address in vain nor have I contacted you on personal basis.

Secondly, thought you may like to know, I recently rejected two potential advertisers who promised to pay good money (3 digits/per month for one text link) sponsoring the site. Though it wasn’t the highest paid ad I’ve heard, not that my blog doesn’t deserve that amount, I smell a rat!

All advertisers have to oblige to my ad policy (no adult, pill enchantment, and non-dog related ads) otherwise no deal!

After receiving Chris’ (MyFavoritePetsitter.com) email, I took the necessary steps suggested by www.StopBadware.org and wrote an appeal for site review. I’m not sure how long this will take but certainly it’s not making this Christmas season a pleasant one for me.

On top of this, my webhosting company has finally decided to close shop in 70 days. After having been with them for almost 3 years (the parent company), it’s sad to have to migrate to another webhosting company.

I know I haven’t been very productive on posting for the past 4 months or so. Please bear with me, I’m going through some rough times in my personal life and studies. I won’t share the details but I can tell you that I’m working very hard to straighten things out. So keep on visiting us often! :)

Chris, I appreciate greatly that you took the time to write me about my (malware) predicament. Thank you so much!

Update (Dec 6th): Google Unflagged SmallDogsParadise…finally! Faster than I expected, within one and half day after my appeal! No email from Google explaining the cause. Hey, at least they realized (assuming they did a manual review) my site is very clean after all. I could have told them personally if they had wrote to me before flagging my site.

During those 4 dark days, my site lost quite a bit of revenue (72% of my traffic comes from Google). Hopefully to recuperate the lost as quickly as possible.

In any case, Thank You Google for unflagging me! I suppose my Christmas isn’t that gloom after all :)

  1. Glad I could be of assistance. No one deserves to be “flagged” like that without some sort of notice or proof. Google should be ashamed of themselves. They have definitely violated their motto of “Do no evil” by harming website owners and possibly causing lost income.
