In America, cat is number one household pet followed in close second is dog. Whereas in United Kingdom, is the other way round. No surprise here! However, what amazes me is this…
Dogs appeared to live up to the moniker of being man’s best friend with men spending an average of £335 per animal compared to £229 for women. Source here.
I always thought women are much spendthrift than men, but in this case here I underestimated men’s buying power! I’m guessing, it could be that men buy dogs for their girlfriends, wives, and children therefore women don’t have to foot the bill!
Okay, if men buy dogs than who actually take cares of the dog?

Cats just come to people’s houses and move in– which is why they are in more households. I’ve had many cats in my life but all of them just chose me and didn’t leave. Dogs, on the other hand, a person has to usually go out and find.
