Bake it, Taste it and Savor it…

Start my Blogs againIs this a secret blogging recipe for bloggers? I don’t know, however, I do know it works for me or at least keep me sane and tame if I had to start my blogs again. This is the third writing project Darren Rowse has organized. My first writing project is here if you wanna to read it.

FYI, I meant to post it on Blog-Goddess but due to unforeseen circumstances, that blog is still under the pre-baking stage. So my dear doggy readers please bare with me. Who knows, you might find some gems worth pondering.

Servings: A dozen readerships or maybe more depending on the ingredients you use.

Ingredients:

  • 2.73 MB of Wordpress
  • 1 lb of Blog Designers
  • 7 tbsps of extra Plugins
  • 1 bunch of Networking
  • 1 stream of Contents, finely crafted
  • 1 endless stalk of Perseverance, uncrushed
  • 1 full cup of Fun

Methods:

  1. Preheat new niche for at least 90 days before shuffling into the oven (research more).
  2. Then bake it for at least 210 days. (blog it)
  3. Meanwhile rework the recipe and ingredients to improve the taste for your audience. Stay on course always.
  4. Sprinkle some humors onto the content and toss a few more smileys as you work on the flavor.
  5. Coat more pillar articles and serve consistently.

Special Note:

I started blogging since May 2004 using blogger platform. Though most of them have already changed to wordpress and migrated to my own virtual private server but the hassles I’m going through now is like nightmare in Elm Street. My personal blog in blogspot was recently hacked and lost approximately 250 posts which now I can’t import them to Renee Alexandrea. I’d stopped posting there but the thought of recreating my lost posts is definitely out of my agenda. I’ve to start sprouting sometime later this year if time permits.

Moral: Use the right tools from the start and backup all files.

Get a decent designer who isn’t so driven about getting my money that throws dung, messy code at me. Check out my comment here. (Number 11)

Moral: Be more discerning on choosing the designers. Learn to listen to my intuition.

Having more plugins doesn’t mean better efficiency. Getting the right plugins is. I spent too much time tweaking and implementing some plugins which I gave up using them. I’ve learnt that not all the plugins I’ve used are workable on all my blogs.

Moral: Don’t be too obsessed with plugins.

Spent more time building relationship with other bloggers instead of building more blogs.

Moral: Never underestimate the power of Word of mouth…Priceless!

Running X-number of blogs by myself is madness or should I say it is downright stupidity. I spread myself way too thin. It’s like baking a cake without icing. Icing is good to have which also contain the same chemical ingredient in chocolate. Ladies, forget about it getting to your hips, savor til it lasts. Pooches, you stay away from Chocolate.

Moral: Learn the rope of co-blogging. No need to be all for all.

Don’t allow “cynical” comments and remarks affect my mood and frequency in writing. Step back and have more latte or tequila for those really nasty ones.

Moral: Not everyone sees the same angle as I do. To thyself be true.

Be able to forgive and laugh at myself a little more. It’s alright to make mistakes and learn but not beat myself to exhaustion. Most importantly, stop being so anal about perfection. I certainty don’t want to end up in ARCB (Addiction and Recovery Center for Bloggers). As a matter of fact, I’m showing some symptoms; so help me, God!

Moral: There’s life beside blogging.

  3. Great post! I know one blog and my business keeps me busy enough – well, the little guy mostly too – that I can’t imagine having anything else taking my time! We did this project as well – http://lilduckduck.com/archive/187 – if you want to look!

  4. A wonderful post and one I can totally relate to. Being a lover of LARGE dogs your website holds a special interest to myself.

Your last point is the most important and that is to have fun while your posting.

~ Paul ~ Credits should be given to my daily dose of caffeine and occasional sips of liquor for my creativity. =p

~ Steve ~ I used to have big dogs but they ‘re now in LA with their god-grandpapa. I get to see them only once or twice yearly.

  6. I really enjoyed your post. I came over from problogger. Very nicely done!

~ Jersey Girl ~ Thanks for the linklove and compliment, I’m glad mine caught your attention. Hope to see you again on the next project.

  8. Love the angle on this one — great post.

And I can hear you on the designer gripe — I do a bit of it myself, and some of the people I’ve worked with can be a bit.. unscrupulous at times.

  9. Clever post, thats a long baking time but helps me remember thats how long it tastes. blogs don’t burn I guess.
