Announcement: On my Journey to Becoming a Holistic…

holistic healthNot too long ago I mentioned about my soon-to-be new adventure, taking a long distance course on holistic health, well the time has come. My text books (packed into a 12″x12″x16″ box) arrived last Saturday and I only began reading this past Wednesday.

According to the course layout, I’m expected to complete it within four years from now. As I calculated the hours for me to complete and graduate (hopefully with Honors), I need to spend about 2 hours per day studying the text NOT including research, reference books, discussion, exams, herbal preparations, and case studies. Guesstimate, that would add another hour or so per day—a total of 3 hours a day.

In all honesty, I do not wish to take that long to complete the course. I did my first degree in 3 years, my second in 2, so naturally I’d like become a licensed practitioner by March 2009 or no later than September 2009. Cutting it short by two years would mean that I’ve to double up my studying hours—6 hours a day. This is like working full-time, kind of insane but I have and I want to.

What do all these mean to you as readers?

Currently, I write for three blogs (average of 10 posts per week), I post 5 posts/week here. Looking at my studying schedule, it would be very challenging for me to keep up with my blogging routine.

Here’s what I plan to do. I’ll still continue to post weekly but only 3 to 4 posts per week. However, don’t be too alarmed if you notice two posts on certain weeks. This is probably a sign saying I’m buried under books! =(

As much as I don’t wish this to happen, I’m looking for guest bloggers to fill in a part of my role. The details are here, please take a moment to read if you’re interested. One thing I’ve to stress, you don’t have to be a blogger to be able to contribute your expertise here—I’ll help you out on the admin area, rest assured. Of course you can help spread the word if you know someone who has flair in writing about dog’s related topics.

Last but not least, thank you everyone for reading this blog and continue to make return visits day after day. Greatly appreciated. If I do fall short in my upcoming posts, whether it’s the style or topic, please let me know. Help me so I can help you as readers.

Side note: There will be some maintenance and template editing this weekend and next, might be a bit choppy but no drastic change for now.

Good for you!!! Your plans sound great, but I will miss your posts. Think of blogging as a deserved break from studying.

  2. If you have to be buried, under books is the best place to be. :-) Do well, Renee. New knowledge and new skills are always a treat.

~ Jan ~ Thanks Jan. I hope I’m not being too ambitious with my plans especially on my approach to studying.

~ Rick ~ I’ll do my very best to thrive in this area, not because it’s my favorite subject rather I’ve gain some life experiences and become much wiser. It’s a journey worth investing. Thanks for your well wishes.
