A Little Love and A Whole Lot of Tips

Link LoveSince I didn’t party like a party animal on my Birthday on Monday (in bed with migraine), I thought I had better make up for all my losses. So this past Tuesday I went to a party, a cyber-party to celebrate 4 Successful Blogs’ first Blogday. They are:

We congregated at Liz’s place. Our presents to her, at her request, is to bring one of our successful posts. There are a total of 47 outstanding posts listed here and here. Did a lot of reading, and I manage to compile those I think relate more to this blog’s needs and a couple personal favorites.

Let the reading begin…

If you think you have more life lessons to give to your kids than he or she could give to you, you’re dead wrong? I don’t have kids of my own, but I’d taught hundreds of kids for 13 years. So when I read Tony’s post, 3 Valuable Lessons From 1st Grade Career Day, I definitely dig it. Likewise for pet parents and their dogs. If only we could see through the eyes of our dogs, wouldn’t we become better listeners?

Wanna know why your dog won’t listen to you? If my constant nagging, be a KISSER (Keep It Short and Simple with Easy Repetition) during training, hasn’t registered in; then maybe Ellen’s You’d Have To Be Brain Dead to Listen Up will get you to listen up.

Sometimes in life, we don’t need to be genius to know what works and what’s not. All we need to do is to dare to try. If failed, then try again. I love how Ann recaptures an incident happened in her teens when her dad put a hole in the wall to get what he wanted – bay window. An excellent short post. Maybe I should write a post on ”Are you willing to retrain yourself to train your dog the right way?”

I can’t stress enough the effectiveness of positive dog training, however positive thinking is a totally different story. Read what Chris’ Negetive Thinking Power has to say that keep you from succeeding.

Are you having problem with identity crisis (ie. You’re not Fido’s Top Dog?), then you should read Steve’s Who Do You Think You Are. Oh by the way, does your dog think he’s a Afghan Hound when he’s only a Lhasa Apso? That’s the problem with many small dogs – small in size, big in attitude. 8)

Okay, take a breather or better yet let’s make a snack. Head to Sean’s Toasted Cheese Sandwich. This is something I can see myself making for my dogs and I. The only difference I’d make for my dogs is go easy on the mayonnaise. Personally, I’d use the Japanese mayonnaise – light and delicious. Yum! Yum!

One thing about our health, the way I see it, it’s not that different to our dogs – Heart Disease. Hsien wrote an excellent post on The Purpose of a Hearty Life. Certainly deserves a closer look on our health, good read for all dog owners who wants to lead a healthy lifestyle together with their dogs. Didn’t I tell you many times that the daily doggie walk isn’t just about his pooping?

Speaking of multitasking, I definitely can relate to Char on her post The Queen of Multitasking. I do, sometimes, feel inadequate when I have only one task at hand. However, when I put in overdrive by juggling 6 or more tasks, I’m at the risk of losing my mind.

Here’s a nice laugh on writing, Carolyn’s If You’re Gonna Write Crap, Journal. While I don’t consider myself a prolific writer, but I do my best to deliver quality content for all my readers. So in any case I fall short on this area, please do execute excuse me.

I don’t know what not to like about Rick. His blog is one of those I read on a regular basis. And on this post, Your Life, Your Greatest Work of Art, the last paragraph is simply profound! Plus he’s a great poet!

I confess, I’m a poem sucker. And if I stumbled upon good ones like Battles Hymn of the Blogger by Mike, I can’t help but share.

Not only his poem rhymes,
it surely describes how I feel at times.

Though I don’t pen well as ONE wants me to be,
But I never cease to better myself as I’m born to be.

Now you know how I feel between posts,
won’t you be nice to read all my posts.

If that isn’t too much to ask,
do get all your friends to come visit us.

  1. What a cool blog! Thanks for the mention and I’ll be back to get more tips on dealing with my big dog.

  2. Renée, all I can think to say is, “Woof! Woof!” You did a brilliant job here of giving all our posts here value. I’m sorry you had to suffer through the migraine, though.:(

  3. Thanks for highlighting all the great posts from the party. You’re right about seeing through the eyes of our kids and dogs. With 3 young daughters and a shar-pei/lab mix (also a young lady at 10 months) I can say I learning a little something from at least one of them every day.

  4. Thanks for the love
    Like Char says, “Cool Blog!”
    I like it so much,
    I called for my dog

With the snap of my fingers,
Upon my lap she now sits
What’s that Luce? Yes, I agree
We both hope your migraine quits

  5. Thanks for the review, Renée, and thanks for reading. You’re one of the special ones.:-) I hope you don’t get the migraines regularly. My wife used to. They can be hell.

Sorry guys for the delay replies…

~ Char ~ Don’t mention, it’s a pleasure reading your blog too! I hope my doggie tips serve your needs.

~ Chris ~ I just don’t like to see good posts go ‘unnoticed’. Only if I’d 48 hours per day, I bet I will do more. :)

~ Tony ~ Speaking of free tuition, aren’t they (children and dogs) wonderful teachers? BTW, I so looooove your cartoon drawings.

~ Mike ~ Man of ‘few words’, but never fails to impress me poetically! Let me guess, yours is a small dog.

~ Rick ~ What review? ;) I’m just stating the fact that your blog is a good read!

Thanks for all the well wishes. I don’t get migraine regularly but if I do, it hits me big time lasting for a couple months. If given a choice, I’d rather suffer through PMS than migraine.

Thanks again for your wonderful writings!
