Natural Dog Shampoo for Sticky Situations

Homemade RemediesDogs by nature are very inquisitive creatures. They love to explore places where they are best to avoid – underneath a stationary car or trash bins. Many times, they come home with a total different “look”. And no matter how many times you try to cleanse him with regular shampoo, those contaiminated areas just won’t come off. Instead you end up having a dog with dry skin and many bruised spots.

I’ve got a homemade concoction for you (urhm .. for your dog)! This is a natural dog shampoo to combat those sticky situations.

Ingredients:

  • 250 ml (1 cup) cornmeal
  • 250 ml (1 cup) all-purpose flour

Needed item(s):

  • Laundry Tub or
  • Cardbroad box or
  • Bath Tub

Preparation:

Mix the ingredients in a bowl. Increasing or decreasing amounts according to your dog’s size as powder should cover the entire oily or sticky spots.

How to use it:

  1. Pour the mixture into a tub where you place your dog in it. (if you’ve a large breed dog, you might have to put him in a bath tub that is dry)
  2. Rub the mixture onto the contaminated area of fur. Be careful to avoid his eyes, nose and ears.
  3. Continue applying and rubbing until you can brush the mixture off his fur.
  4. Use a wide-tooth dog comb on the areas that you’d covered, as this is to double check that you really got rid of the contaminated areas.
  5. Once done, discard the used mixture and follow up with a regular dog shampoo of your choice.

Special Note:

The reason this natural dog shampoo for sticky situations works great is that flour and cornmeal are naturally absorbent, so oils and other contaminants don’t stand a chance against them.
