Hi Glenda,

Apology for not getting to you sooner. Anyway, I've found a couple of websites that explain in details on IVDD.

Vetmed and Dodgerslist

As to holistic vets, I've listed a few here.

To add to my previous post -- I am looking for a holistic vet in my driving area -- anywhere in a 200 mile radios of NW Georgia (close to Chattanooga, Tennessee) -- can anyone make a recommendation of a good vet that uses alternative approaches?

Thanks, Glenda

My dog has intervertebral disc disease -- early stages. He is faced with taking steriods or having $4,000 surgery. I do not have the money for the surgery. I am looking for some way to further reduce his inflammation and help him feel better other than steriods. I will work with his doctor if I find some natural remedy, but please help me as I am already in a state of grief about this pet. He's a dachshund and only 7 years old. He's in great health otherwise, appetite good, can walk fairlly well (it's his left front leg that is affected) but the outlook is not good if he stays on steriods. Thank you. Glenda in Georgia
