I feel treadmills are fantastic!!!! You aren't always able to get the time in our hectic lives to walk outdoors everyday. I have used them when we did our Endurance Test to gain stamina for our Goldies. In saying that though you do also need to do alot of roadwork to toughen the pads up on your dogs feet. I agree with most of the topics brought up but i don't agree that they can't be used for show dogs if you keep in mind the dogs age/breed etc. I think on slight incline they help build up the upper thigh immensley.
If used correctly they can help for so many general well being reasons. There is a water treadmill in our local hydrotherapy pool where we swim our dogs. The water treadmill is from the USA and you can increase the water depth pending on the fitness level of your dog. Just brilliant but they aren't for the pet hobbiest. Costs to purchase up well into the thousands.

Interesting. But it's always best to bring to dog outside rather than exercise him/her with the treadmill.. I'm a dog lover and each day I like to learn more about how to best take care of my dog, feel free to drop by my blog, www.rachelanddogs.com
