Great Advice. Also, having your dog think he's alpha can also result in separation anxiety. Being alpha, they think they need to protect the pack, so when you leave they go crazy because you become eligible for danger. No matter how safe you are they still think that you need to be protected. letting you dog know what their role and your role is, can prevent A LOT of problems.

I need some help on introducing a new 4 yr old dobbie to the house. I have two chihuahuas and they are very submissive. The dobbie from what the owner tells me isn't the biggest fan of little dogs. I don't want my babies harmed. So how do I do this without harming them, but letting the dobbie know she isn't the boss?

Hi Scotty's Mom,

Thank you so much for your compliment. I'm always glad to know someone can benefit from my articles, which has always been my goal for this blog.

BTW, this article comes with a part two, it should be out in a week or two. Do stay tune.

I absolutely love your website! Teaching a pet owner how to become the Alpha Dog has got to be one of THE most important part of a canine/human relationship. Thanks for the great advice!!
