Make Decorative Dog Bowls in 60 Minutes

Crafting Dog SuppliesSo…you aren’t a great cook, huh? How about making decorative dog bowls to compensate your flaws???

As dogs…have vivid dream, and this is shown by their movements and the sounds uttered, we must admit that they possess some power of imagination. There must be something special, causes dogs to howl in the night, and especially during moonlight….

By Charles Darwin, The Descent of Man

Humans tend to forget that dogs possess this faulty of imagination—that dogs are dreamers, and have fantasises, just like you do. So don’t serve your dog’s meals in the same drab old dogs dishes every day, but draw on the possible contents of doggie dreams to create something really charming and special.

Some ideas on what to draw on your Dogs Bowls:

  • Bone’y bowl
  • Paw’er bowl
  • Doggie bowl

…these personalized dog bowls will certainly brighten up any mealtime.

Or

Vary the design to suit your dog and make sure you use non-toxin enamel paints—not a choice but a must.

Things That You Will Need Are:

  • China or any stoneware bowl of your choice suitable for your breed.
  • Warm water
  • Vinegar
  • China-graph pencil
  • Water-based craft enamel (on ceramics)
  • Small paintbrush

Methods:

  1. Wash the bowl in the vinegar solution to remove any grease.
  2. Dry thoroughly.
  3. Draw your design onto the bowl with a china-graph pencil. Or paint patterns for a chic effect.
  4. Paint on the design then place in a cold domestic oven and bake for 30-45 minutes at 160C / 325F. Do not remove until cool.
